Magnolia Workshop ~ Kate Themel Teacher!

Look what the First Duchess Quilters created! The fabulous Kate Themel taught another group of students her unique layering technique and as you can see they had fun and created beautiful fabric art. 

Kate and I often collaborate and I dye all of the fabric kits used in her workshops. Please check out Kate's gallery of her personal work ~ you will be blown away!

The awesome Kate Themel completed another commission piece recently. Don't you just want to reach out and give this pooch a pet!I'm thrilled Kate choose a piece of my ice dyed fabric as the background.

More Fabric Kits for Kate!

Kate Themel has an upcoming Magnolia workshop at Sew Inspired quilt shop in Simsbury, CT on September 5th. This means I'm busy-busy putting ice dyeing and low immersion techniques to use. 

Here they are soaking in their respective tubs!

Next I pull a file-o-fun from the dryer!

Lastly I prep the kits for class! The students are ready for Kate's instruction and will learn the tricks to her unique layering process.

Dying More Fabric for Kate Themel's Magnolia Workshops!

Fiber artist Kate Themel had fabulous results in her recent Magnolia workshop! The students embraced her technique and created beautiful wall art. For a complete list of Kate's workshops click here. 

For my part I'm busy dyeing fabric to put the magnolia fabric kits together. The kits contain gradated colors for the flowers, browns and greens along with a one of a  kind ice dyed background.

I'd better get busy...

Large Fabric Kit

My hand dyed fabric packs are ready for their debut at Kate Themel's upcoming Magnolia workshop! Twelve artists from the Sisters in Cloth group will be taking Kate's workshop later this month. Kate will be introducing her magnolia design and unique approach to creating a piece of wall art. Kate's developed her own technique over the years and the workshop will unravel the mystery of her style! Each artist will have the opportunity to create a customized Magnolia wall hanging.
