Baroque ~ by Charlene O'Rourke
Charlene made this fabulous fabric collage. Charlene used a piece of ice dyed sateen for the background, Indian batik and a floral print. Charlene outlined the print with stitching to create this lovely design. Beautiful job Charlene!

Moon over the Sound ~ by Gail Kotowski
What a beautiful and peaceful piece Gail designed! Gail told me about her inspiration and what type of background she had in mind. I created a Confetti Dyed fabric for her and I'm blown away at her finished piece!

Fiber artist Heidi Proffetty works in the unique style of mosaic! I've never seen fiber interpreted like this before and I find it mesmerizing! I was thrilled to learn Heidi used my fabrics in this piece titled "Erin"! Heidi gets her inspiration from photos she takes and then creates a pattern in her mosaic style. Next she selects fabric to highlight the shadows and textures of the design. You should defiantly check out Heidi's website where she discusses her process in more detail!

I met Dawn Allen at a CT SAQA meeting and was instantly intrigued by her unique 3D fiber art. Dawn visualizes her designs in a way that I haven't really seen before. She is the master of 3D construction... click here to view her full work!

Dawn recently created "Confetti Garden" using some of my confetti-dyed fabric plus fabric she designed! Dawn described her design process as, 'thinking about what it would look like if someone had a party and threw confetti across the lawn. The flowers are inspired by Bluets which are typically more toward white (I took poetic licence.)'

Her art quilts have been juried into special exhibits in Houston, AQS QuiltWeek Paducah and the National Juried Show at Quilt Canada. Look at this fabulous piece Kelly Lorraine Caldwell created! It's titled "New Growth" and utilizes my ice dyed fabric, thread, embroidery floss, book pages and found objects. I've gotten to know Kelly through the CT Chapter of SAQA. She has a lot of energy and a positive persona. Kelly's work is really unique and well crafted. Check out her website - I promise it will be a treat - click here

Joyce Compton created "Floral Fantasy" which was accepted into the upcoming Shenandoah Vineyards exhibit! I had the pleasure of meeting Joyce while attending the 2015 SAQA conference in Portland, OR last spring. The best thing about being a vendor at a show is meeting so many creative people. In looking over my stash of fabrics Joyce pulled out this Snow Dyed piece. Joyce said, "I knew immediately when I saw the fabric that I just wanted to quilt it to enhance the design created by the dyeing process".

Misty Cole made this lovely piece titled, "Fleeting Beauty". Misty said the design was inspired by a recent birthday that had her dreaming of younger days when she confidently wore a bikini with a pierced navel in public! What a hoot - to see Misty's full story and design process click here.

I met Misty Cole last spring when we both attended the national SAQA conference in VA. Misty shared Celestial Spheres from a recent exhibition called, The Best Little Quilt Show in Maryland. She combined some of my fabrics with commercial fabrics for this very unique design. The more you look at it the more sub designs you see!

Susan Vassallo and I crossed paths at the 2014 SAQA conference in Alexandria, VA. Susan chose a large piece of snow dyed fabric to bring home with her and I was blown away by her creative vision! Just take a look at how she embellished and enhanced the fabric design... WOW! The panels are called The Sandra Day O'Connor series and each piece is 17" X 38".

This is  a series of "Ice Flowers" by Linda Copper! Look at the lovely way Linda used the ice dyed fabric to create these lovely flowers and vase!

Linda Martin is a fellow Connecticut Fiber Arts Collective member. Linda is known for her fun and fabulous applique work - aren't her color combinations full of life! Here is Linda's latest piece titled, "Moonlight Bathing". I'm honored Linda chose a piece of my fabric for
the background!

Gail Kotowski recently completed this lovely Magnolia piece. The background is ice dyed canvas with gradated cottons for the flowers. Can you see Gail's fabulous stitching? If you are interested in workshop information - click here Magnolia workshop taught by Kate Themel.

Kate Themel recently completed her fiber art piece, "Tattooed Boy"! Kate's son was her inspiration; to read more about the sweet and tender backstory to the design please read Kate's blog ! I was honored to create the custom fabric for the background and to be part of such a wonderful project.

Fiber Artist Kate Themel recently completed a challenge project for Viewpoints 9. I was delighted she chose my fabric as the background piece for Red Fox, Blue Fox! It's a fun piece with a blue fox who wears a sly grin... I wonder what he's thinking about?!
Kate recently earned the Young Emerging Artist Award and the People's Choice Award for her work in Quilt National '11. Please be sure to check out her sites to view more of her unique designs.

Diane Cadrain is a fellow Connecticut Fiber Arts Collective member. She is one of the most prolific artists that I know producing new creations weekly. According to Diane, "the voices in her head" keep giving her ideas! As you can see she is also a lot of fun.

I've asked Diane to share some of her work that incorporates my hand crafted fabric. This piece is titled, "Cape Cod Pitch Pine". Diane first printed a photo onto fabric. Next she stuffed the images of the cones and used trapunto to get dimensionality for the needles. Then she surrounded the photo transfer with a border of my ice dyed fabric. Isn't it a great piece?!

Antonia Torres is a founding member of the Connecticut Fiber Arts Collective! She is an inspirational artist who is able to translate what she visualizes into a fabric design.

As Toni was looking through my stash of fabrics she was drawn to this particular piece. Toni said she immediately knew she would create a design that felt as if you were peering through the branches and into the forest.

I'd say she did an awesome job
